My German Heritage

I am half German and half Irish. My dads side of the family is of German decent. My moms side of me is full red-blooded Irish. After researching both sides of my familys ethnicity, and from my past I lead run aground I tend to identify with my German part more than than the Irish part of me. I have taken into considerateness of all my mannerisms, likes, and things past, present and future, and I also have, at generation proud to be of German decent. I have has a great fascination with German history, more than Irish history. On a lighter side, I also prefer beer (a German claim to fame) to whisky (an Irish claim as well). provided what makes me embrace it more is the history of German Americans in the fall in States.

German people have not only immigrated to this country, save they are also documented to be among the English to annex here. (*)The History of German-American Relations states that German immigration began in the 17th coulomb and continued into the late 19th century at a rate exceeding that of any former(a) country. The first English settlers arrived at Jamestown in 1607; the first German, in 1608, and continued at a steady rate. Therefore, Germans were present at the creation of this nation.



Permanent roots were solidified with the landing of immigrants as early as 1683 in a town called Germantown, named for the existence entirely of German immigrants, which is near the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Our roots have been part of colonization and of immigration both.

As long as the English settlers have been here, so have the German immigrants as well. When the first Germans came to this country and landed in Jamestown, word got adventure to Germany about the new land that they came to the new land in massive numbers.
